Child, Adolescent Centered Psychiatry & Psychotherapy

Child, Adolescent Centered

Psychiatry & Psychotherapy- All children grow through their adolescent years without experiencing some bumps along the way. While every child is unique, sometimes they encounter emotions, feelings or behaviors that cause problems in their lives and the lives of those around them. Families often worry when their child or teenager has difficulty coping, feels sad, can't sleep, gets involved with illicit substances, or can't get along with family or friends.

Psychopharmacology

Psychopharmacology can effectively be utilized in many adolescent and adult situations which require the use of certain medications in conjunction with cognitive therapy. The actions of particular drugs and their effects on mood, sensation, thinking, and behavior are sometimes a necessary measure.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy refers to a variety of techniques and methods used to help children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing difficulties with their emotions or behavior. Although there are different types of psychotherapy, each relies on communication as the basic tool for bringing about change in a person's feelings and behaviors. In children and adolescents, playing, drawing, building, and pretending, as well as talking, are important ways of sharing feelings and resolving problems.
